Numeracy Tutor

We are looking to hire qualified primary-trained teachers with a minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience, who is confident and experienced in teaching maths foundations across Years 1–7.

These are non-negotiable requirements of the role.

We are seeking educators who are passionate about teaching numeracy foundations for children in Years 1–7, because this is our speciality — and the reason we are growing.

About The Role

We are specialists in literacy and numeracy intervention.

Numeracy Intervention

For numeracy, we are all confident using a Concrete–Pictorial–Abstract (CPA) approach, building conceptual understanding cumulatively, adapting lessons responsively, and teaching vertically where needed to bridge foundational gaps.

We are all proficient with OneNote and comfortable using online technologies such as Microsoft Teams when required, including at short notice.

We are always punctual, prepared, and ready for fast-paced mornings and afternoons, as sessions typically run back-to-back in focused 30-minute blocks.

    You are the sort of person who can confidently take anecdotal notes, capture feedback images where appropriate, and still remain fully present in lesson delivery.

    You are the sort of person who respects shared spaces, uses resources thoughtfully, and ensures they remain organised and available for others.

    You are the sort of person who contributes to a calm, hygienic, and professional environment for both students and staff.

    You are the sort of person who can support children experiencing frustration, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, or resistance, helping them regulate, reconnect, and re-engage without taking behaviour personally.

  • This isn’t for you if you are not already proficient in math foundational skills, as this is a non-negotiable requirement of the role.

    This isn’t for you if you do not have a minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience.

    This isn’t for you if you lack confidence and demonstrated experience teaching maths foundations across the full primary range from Year 1 to Year 7.

    This isn’t for you if you prefer to work slowly and need time between students to reset.

    This isn’t for you if you dislike collaboration, resist feedback, or prefer to “wing it” rather than arrive fully prepared.

    This isn’t for you if differentiating for 3–4 students in a session feels overwhelming rather than energising.

    This isn’t for you if punctuality, time management, or consistency are ongoing challenges.

    This isn’t for you if technology causes significant stress or if adapting between in-person and online teaching feels outside your comfort zone.

    This isn’t for you if emotional dysregulation in children feels personal, frustrating, or difficult to navigate with patience and compassion.

    This isn’t for you if you cannot commit reliably for the duration of a school term.
