Sounds Write

A First-Class Phonics Program

Sounds-Write is an evidence-based, highly structured program that teaches children the 44 sounds of English and their spellings. Unlike traditional "look and say" methods, it provides a logical code that children can actually crack.

    • Systematic & Structured Approach Learning happens step-by-step. We start with simple sounds (CVC words like cat) and move incrementally to complex structures, ensuring no child feels overwhelmed.

    • Multi-Sensory Techniques We engage sight, sound, and touch. By blending, segmenting, and manipulating physical letter tiles, students build stronger neural pathways for memory.

    • Focus on Phonemic Awareness Before children can read, they must hear. We train the ear to break words into individual sounds (phonemes), which is the most critical predictor of reading success.

    • Support for All Learners Designed to be inclusive, this program is the "missing link" for students with Dyslexia or those who have struggled with pace in a standard classroom setting.

    • Improved Literacy
Builds a rock-solid foundation for both decoding (reading) and encoding (spelling).

    • Enhanced Confidence
Nothing beats the "I can do it!" moment when a child finally decodes a word they previously skipped.

    • Long-Term Success
Mastering the phonetic code early prevents the "Year 4 Slump" when academic texts become more complex.

Hi lovely parents, I’m Nicola

After nearly three decades in education, I’ve met so many bright, capable children who just needed a little more time, patience, and the right kind of support to shine. I started The Learning Circle Tutor because every child deserves to feel proud of what they can do, not anxious about what they can’t yet. Here, learning happens at their pace, in a calm and caring space where they can catch up, feel seen, and rediscover their confidence one step at a time.

If you’re looking for support that truly understands your child, I’d love to welcome you to The Learning Circle Tutor, a place where growth, kindness and learning go hand in hand.
